PRE-TREATMENTS

Before electroplating, pre-treatment is essential to ensure a high-quality metal deposit with good corrosion resistance.

These preliminary operations remove any imperfections on the components and any oil and grease deposits from their surfaces.

Sandblasting

Using abrasives, sandblasting removes oxides, impurities and residues, creating a controlled roughness that promotes adhesion of the metal coating.

Abrasives are selected according to the material and the desired result: the most commonly used include corundum for more aggressive treatments, glass beads for delicate finishes, and metallic or ceramic grit for specific applications. This choice makes it possible to achieve the right level of surface cleanliness and an optimal finish.

Tumbling

Tumbling is a mechanical finishing process used to smooth and even out the surfaces of workpieces before electroplating. Through the combined action of abrasives and controlled movement, it removes burrs, imperfections and residues.

The dynamic movement of the components among the urea-based abrasive media further smooths their surface, improving aesthetic quality and preparing the part for better adhesion of the electroplated coating.

Vibratory finishing

Vibratory finishing is a mechanical process that removes surface imperfections arising from moulding processes such as die-casting or injection moulding.

Through controlled vibration and the action of specific abrasives, it improves the finish of the workpiece, evening out the surfaces and preparing them optimally for the subsequent electroplating treatments.

Polishing

Polishing is a finishing process that makes the surface smooth, uniform and bright, eliminating porosity and micro-imperfections.

This treatment enhances the appearance of the workpiece and provides an optimal base for the subsequent electroplating processes, promoting a uniform, high-quality final result.
